Day Four. Not sure if anyone else exists in town. Saw an unfamiliar cat walking across the yard today. The squirrels are digging up their stored nuts.
I think the food and the yarn will hold out over the weekend. But I am getting a wee bit bored. (I've read almost all my accumulated research-reading).
I don't know if the roads really ARE that bad, or if someone somewhere just decided "Ah, forget it. It's almost the weekend; why make everyone come back for one day of classes." (Oh, crud. I have to post on my gen bio website when I'm rescheduling tomorrow's exam for...)
Or maybe someone wanted to start Super Bowl partying a little early?
(If the roads look at all passable tomorrow, I am going to try to go out to buy milk. Because I really don't like the thought of shopping on Saturday with everyone else who is buying for the Super Bowl and everyone who is re-stocking after a week at home....)
At this point I've kind of reached a sort of resigned amusement with the whole thing.

We went to Wal-mart this evening. The roads here are really bad. It took us twice as long as usual to get there. More than half the shelves in the grocery section were empty. They say the trucks can't get there.
