Honeycomb is done!

I finished the last sleeve band a little bit ago.

The dark green is kind of hard to photograph well.

I don't like my expression in this photo (I would have taken another one but the camera ran out of battery life right after this photo), but I think it shows the color a bit better.

It will be a very nice vest for the fall - warm but lightweight. And it IS very stretchy. In retrospect - I made the 42 1/2" size, I probably could have gone down one more size and had it fit fine. Then again, come winter I will be wearing it over things heavier than a t-shirt, so maybe it's fine as it is.

I'm pleased with how the vest turned out. I think the more I do picked-up bands on things, the better I get. (And they are explicit about stating the "three stitches to four rows" rule, which I think generally leads to a well-spaced band that is neither too tight nor too stretched-looking).

I got out my size 7 needle and the big giant ball of "Stylecraft Special Aran" to swatch for Potter.

I find it rather satisfying to think that I just finished up a project from the yarn bought on the 2008 version of Grand Day Out, and I am preparing to start knitting with yarn purchased at the 2009 version of the same. And that in less than 3 weeks, provided nothing untoward happens, I will be heading down to Longview for Grand Day Out 2010.

Battery life will be the death of us all, I'm beginning to think.

So the plan, I guess, is to get yarn this year for Fall 2011 knitting?

That looks very nice. I used to like vests with skirts and blouses but I haven't had one for about 15 years. I'm thinking I might make one or two polar fleece vests for this winter.
