Taking a few minutes to check Ravelry before I head out for the day...
And on my "friend activity" page, I see someone favorited a scoop-necked vest made out of stripes of Noro Silk Garden and a plain colored yarn. It's not exactly like the Back to School U-Necked vest from Fitted Knits, but it's similar.
And the striping pattern looked so good on the vest.
The pattern is from a book called Twelve Months of Knitting. If I happen to spot it while I'm out today, I'm going to look at it and maybe buy it.
If I don't like the rest of the book, I already have a similar pattern in the Back to School vest.
Because I think I will use one or the other of these patterns with my precious eight skeins of Boku...which my mom bought for me when we thought Ewe Knit was closing for good... I knew I wanted a pullover fitted vest out of them, I originally thought to design my own, but I KNOW the Back to School vest fits well, and I KNOW there is enough of the Boku for it (I actually wound up not using the fourth skein of Cascade 220 I bought for the original vest)
THAT'S why I love Ravelry. Being able to get ideas. (I had contemplated the U-necked vest before for the Boku but thought it might not look so good with the striping yarn. But seeing how THIS vest looks...well, it will look good.)
