This morning they were talking on the radio about how some hunting (dove hunting for sure) is permitted in the city limits of McKinney, but some homeowners don't like it. (The hunter's land DOES have to be larger than a certain acreage).

One guy was talking about the birdshot, and how it got into people's yards, and "if you had your eyes open when it was flying around, you could get it in your eye."

And I was talking back to the radio (I often do) saying, "No, no, you're not saying it right! You need to say, 'you'll shoot your eye out!'"

(Except I suppose in this case it would be "you'll shoot someone else's eye out.")

I'm not sure I'd be all too happy with a law like that here except for the fact that in my neighborhood, the lots are all a tiny fraction of an acre so even IF that law existed here, it wouldn't apply.

A couple of photos.

I took this one a couple days ago but never got it posted. I think it better shows the lovely colors and nice texture of the My So-Called Scarf.

(yeah, yeah, I know - the knitters reading this know what the texture of this scarf is like as I am probably the last person to knit it. Whatever).

And this is ALMOST a sock:

almost a sock

I had high hopes of finishing the toe off last night. But thanks to an evening meeting that went at least an hour longer than it should have. (Seriously, there should be a law: if you are a member of a club, and you have to work the next day, the club's meetings need to be done at or before 8 pm. It frustrates me to be the only non-retired member of a group; everyone else has forgotten how early 6 am can come the next day)

The yarn is one of the older Trekking XXL colors...127, I think? It's black and green and not-quite-enough pink. It reminds me a bit of licorice allsorts.

I WILL finish the sock tonight, even though I have to do laundry. (And some other stuff. Sigh.)
