One of the things I picked up when I was out doing some necessary marketing yesterday were a pair of pillowcase blanks. You know, the plain white cotton kind you can embroider on.

Originally I was going to iron on one of the Sublime Stitching transfers I bought a while back, but then I had another idea...why not try to find some good, large-ish (or enlarge on the photocopier if necessary - I'm thinking maybe 3 inch tall or so figures) line drawings of the Moomin characters, and embroider them? So I could have one pillowcase with Moominmamma, Moominpappa, Moomintroll, the Snork Maiden (and maybe the Ancestor as well), and the other with a fillyjonk, a Hemulen, Snufkin, Sniffy, maybe Too-Ticky...

Kind of a silly idea for a nearly 40-year-old woman but I have to admit I kind of like the idea of Moomin pillowcases.

I think it's a wonderful idea. I just read Tove Jansson's Summer Book this afternoon which includes some of her drawings and just looking at them made me want to transfer the work to something textile. If you do please show what you made.

I love the thought of Mumin pillow cases. Why not? There is after all enought football, soccer, basketball etc fan wear to cover several adult men, so this is no sillier.

Can't wait to see how that will turn out.
