I had ordered two of the Hansigurumi patterns (the Dumbo octopus - because, how can you not love something called a "Dumbo octopus"? - and the "regular" octopus).

They just came (They are .pdf files sent to one's e-mail address).

They're really nicely done. I'm very happy. And looking forward to making the critters - they're very realistic but still have a certain cuddliness to them.

I think one of the best applications (for crafters, at least) of the Internet is the whole patterns-as-a-.pdf-file thing. It's a wonderful way to add to your pattern library - you don't need to go out, you don't need to find a specialty shop - you can just use PayPal to have the purchase price sent to the pattern designer and then he or she sends you the file, and you print it out. And it's almost immediate - I think I had these patterns less than 24 hours after I ordered them (and some sites, like Mochimochiland, are even faster - if you download them through her "e-junkie" system, you get the pattern the instant your PayPal transaction goes through.)

Have you seen these free patterns on the Berroco website? I thought of you when I saw the octopus and squid:
