Here's the second critter. This is the little duck from that "Kyuuto: Japanese Crafts - Amigurumi" book. It's the same pattern that Michelle made her "wonky ducky" from (one picture of him is on the particular post I linked).
More than most amigurumi, this duck is pretty expressive.
He can be happy:
Happy, I suppose, because I decided on a name - Oshi-dori - for him.
Or he can be sad.
Perhaps because, "Life out here can be hard for us little ducklings, but I'm trying my best" (As the caption in the book reads. I assume the captions - some of which are a bit odd - are direct translations of the original Japanese).
He can be gabby - as noted on the Mimoknits blog:
Telling you his life story, no doubt - I'm sure it wouldn't take very long even with embellishment as he was only "born" on May 26.
He can also be shocked.
Really, some people just should NOT watch Discovery Health.

The faces kill me dead.
(I shouldn't watch Discovery Health either. I don't make that face, but I also have arms long enough to cover my eyes.)
He reminds me of that duck Alfred E. Kwak. Do you know him, red and white stripped scarf.
Very cute!
