Fillyjonk's progress

What's a fillyjonk?
(It's a made-up animal. Very feminine. Somewhat neurotic. A lot like me.)

Read Tove Jansson if you really want to know.

I wish this were an April Fool's Day news story. But as the date-stamp is yesterday, I guess it's for real:

Oklahoma couple poisoned by mercury while panning for gold in old electronic equipment.

That is just a couple of towns over from me.

Stop being stupid, people! Mercury is really really bad stuff! (I just hope it's not getting into the water system from junk like this, and that all of us innocent folks are breathing the vapors being released. Maybe that's why I've been tired and irritable this spring - I'm being poisoned by people looking to make a quick buck).
