Finished one little thing:

orson2

Tentatively named "Orson" unless I come up with something better.

This little bear was made using the "Fuzzy Animals" pattern from "Kyuuto - Japanese Crafts: Amigurumi" book. I used the leftovers (less than a ball, probably less than 1/2 a ball) of the Rowan Kid Classic from the Greek Pullover.

Fuzzy yarn isn't as fun to work with (splitty) but I do like the effect it gives, and the fabric is softer and more flexible than with the acrylic yarns.

This came out smaller than I expected from the photo - but I don't know if I used the same weight yarn as the originals in the book (the book is VERY BAD about specifying anything about yarn weight. Of course with toys, it doesn't matter - you can do them any size provided you use a hook small enough to make a fabric that the stuffing won't show through, but still - I like having some rough idea of yarn weights.)

The nose is a vintage shell button (probably off baby clothes). I wanted to use vintage buttons for the eyes but I couldn't find any I liked that were the right size in my collection. So instead, I used some buttons I had bought a while back on sale at the fabric shop.
