I'm back. The meetings went well. My first-ever "section moderation" worked very well, we had no technical glitches and everyone stayed pretty much on time.
The food was not so great, in my opinion. The banquet lunch was chicken and steamed vegetables and salad and rolls and mashed potatoes. (I didn't take any of the steamed vegetables - they were primarily carrots, and carrots do not agree with me.). But everything else had GARLIC in it. Lots of garlic. Or maybe garlic flavoring, I don't know. I ate about half of the chicken and could not do any more, and left most of the potatoes. (Even the whipped butter had garlic and chive flavoring in it).
I had to find a Walgreen's before I got back on the turnpike to buy some antacid. And some breath mints, to take the taste out of my mouth.
I like garlic, but I like tasting the food that the garlic is in as well. And I like a little variety in the food. And too much garlic (or, I think it was actually garlic flavoring) does not agree well with me. Not sure what to do for supper tonight as a result - I might just have a big bowl of Rice Krispies.
I will say driving back it really looked like fall is finally here. The trees haven't started to change yet but they have that sort of "rusty" look that the leaves get before they change.
