I am almost done with the u-necked back-to-school vest. I finished the neckband and one sleeveband last night, but just didn't have enough energy to finish the second sleeveband. (But I think I will tonight...I have an exam to write this afternoon after classes are done, and some time I need to clean up my house, but that could be a Saturday-morning project).

It looks good. I hope the fit is good - I kind of tried it on when it was partly finished and it seemed to fit well, but I didn't have the back done at that point.

I am going to have an entire skein of yarn left over. For my size (44"), it said to buy four skeins of the yarn, so I bought four. I wound them all off because honestly at one point it looked like I might run out - and I was gearing up to call the lady at the shop where I bought it and ask her if she had more in the same dyelot.

I'm not very good at estimating things. Especially when the "yarn cake" gets down to its core - there's a lot more yarn there than I think there will be. (It was the same way with the Retro Rib socks...I was sure I was going to run short, but I probably have 20 grams or so of the yarn left over)

I can't take the extra skein back, as I have already wound it off. But that's perfectly okay - I see a hat in its future. (hah ha ha....Yarn Nostradamus. Or maybe it's like the guy in the Dead Zone - where I put my hand on a skein of yarn and go "Oh, you are going to become fingerless gloves!") Not sure whether it will be a Maple Seed Hat (I think the color would be nice for that) or the worsted-weight version of Foliage
