Wednesday's post a bit early.
I did finish the Greek pullover and tried it on.
This is my favorite shot of it.
I think the pattern is probably better suited to a less-busty woman; it makes certain "features" of my anatomy a bit more prominent than I like.
It would also probably suit better someone more willowy than I am. Oh well. That's something unlikely to change at this point.
Also, jeans probably aren't the "primo" choice of what to wear with this - a straight black skirt would probably look nicer. And probably one of the "nude" or "champagne" or whatever-its-called-color brassiere might be better than the white one I had on.
This also shows one of the hazards of broad shoulders - I had to adjust things very carefully to get the sweater to work. And it's the kind of sweater that's best for standing around and looking pretty because when you move around, it tends to ride up. Or at least on me, it did.
I think when I wear it "for reals" (unless I decided to wear it on a date or some other kind of short-time span where I'm unlikely to perspire a great deal), I will probably wear it over a turtleneck, long-sleeve t-shirt, or even cotton blouse. (That would also help with the feeling of needing to tug the shoulders up to cover everything every few minutes).
Another option - which I'm sort of considering, as I have more of the yarn left, would be to do another row or so of single crochet around the neckline to expand it and stabilize it even more. (I might just try that. If I don't like it, it would be easy to take out).
So - if you decide to make this, how might you want to alter it? I think the neckline in front would benefit from being higher (at least on someone with my build). I also think the shoulders would be nicer if they were wider (but then again I have broad shoulders for a woman).

Pretty sweater. Looks good on you. If you choose to wear it without a shirt under it, maybe a black or other dark color bra would be a good choice to avoid the "show through" factor. I used to work with a girl who wore wine or black slips under her white skirts to avoid anyone being able to see through them. It's kind of counter-intuitive but it worked for her.

Gal! That is a super sweater on you. I understand what you mean about not being willowy - we are similarly shaped - but you look great in that sweater. So much nicer than oversized and drop shouldered. I like the idea of layering and I also think it's a super date sweater.
congratulations.
I really like how that came out--I remember when I saw that in IK, that the frou around the edges prevented me from being able to see it. Leaving that off was definitely the way to go.
I would maybe... I'm not sure how to phrase it exactly, but make the neck a bit more "oval" than "rounded rectangle", unless I was in the mood to make a "HELLO breasts and shoulders!" sweater.
(That reads as insulting, somehow, which annoys me, because I don't mean it that way at all--that sweater is hot. We have breasts and shoulders. Sometimes we want to emphasize our brawny femininity. I'm wearing such a piece of clothing right now. It's all good.)
Totally fab photos!
Wow, I think the sweater looks awesome on you. The color is gorgeous with your skin, and I think the cut is very flattering (though I too would feel uncomfortable wearing that to teach in). It would be just perfect with an a-line skirt.
It looks very nice on you and I love the color. I would want to wear something under it, mostly because if I'm wearing something wooly (can't remember what yarn you used) I'm cold and having skin showing would defeat the purpose for me. I've taken to wearing fitted tanks under some sweaters to add a layer without extra volume.

Definitely a black or other dark bra. You have a pretty--what the French call a "gorge." Instead of a turtleneck, how about a pretty silk scarf folded in two the long way, put around the neck, with the ends tucked through the U. This would be feminine yet modest--without covering yourself up like a nun.

That looks stunning on you. It's a great color and a really good fit.
I think that it looks good with jeans.
