Running a couple errands before going home to eat lunch, I was coming up my street from the south side. A house several blocks south of me was all strung up with police crime-scene tape.

Now, I don't know the people that live there at all, but it kind of chills my blood to wonder about what might have happened. I hope it's just a burglary or something non-violent (or don't they bother to put up tape for burglaries?)

I suppose I'll find out when I watch the local evening news tonight.

(ETA: checked the local newspaper's website: apparently some guy got stabbed in a fight over a woman. Not badly - says he's out of the hospital already. But still - it's kind of creepy, so close to home.)
