I'm going to post these as an entry, rather than as long comments. (And Grace - go ahead and do your answers in comments; that's fine.)
First of all, dragonknitter:
1. I know you have culinary training. What was the most fun and what was the least fun part of it?
2. If you were going to open a restaurant (money is no object), what type of food would you serve and what would the restaurant be like?
3. What is your favorite fiber type to spin or knit with?
4. Describe one particularly kind or touching thing Mark has done for you.

1. Have you lived in Massachusetts all your life? If not, what originally brought you there?
I've lived here most of my life. I was born in Toronto because my father was working there at the time. We stayed a few years then moved to Mass. I love living in the Northeast. I love the changeable weather and the foliage in fall. I appreciate the sense of history surrounding us, the ocean within an hour's drive, and the mountains to the north. The last few years, I have been most thankful that some of the world's best doctors and hospitals are very close by.
2. Other than knitting, what fiber crafts do you do?
I think I've tried most things, except quilting. I have done embroidery, cross-stitch, crochet. I sew sporadically, lately just to hem things. I prefer knitting right now because it fits my lifestyle. It's portable and doesn't need a lot of space or attention (at least for most of my projects). Plus these 43-year-old eyes are starting to suffer with any close work :-)
3. If money were no object, what would you choose to change about your house/life/work/whatever? What would you spend it on?
At this point in my life, I'd make sure my kids had enough money for college. With a 15, 13, and 10 year old, it is not far off and will be very expensive. It would be nice not to saddle them with prohibitive loans if possible. Then I would make a substantial donation to the hospital that treated my daughter for her brain tumor. These complete strangers entered our life during its most traumatic time and propped us up as they cared for our child. I can't imagine how they can do this, every day, with every family.
Finally, I'd go to grad school with the goal of being either some kind of therapist working with sick children (yeah, it's all about the cancer. Wish it wasn't, but it is what it is.) or education specialist, probably reading.
4. What's your favorite saying or quotation and why?
Hmm, I've had various favorites at different times in my life. Right now these two are on my fridge:
"The only way round is through." (Robert Frost) and "To fear is one thing. To let fear grab you by the tail and swing you around is another." (Katherine Paterson)
5. What is one other thing about you that you'd like people to know?
I'm not standoffish, I'm shy. I'm much better one-on-one than in a cocktail party situation. If you see me standing to the side of a big group, I'm not being a snob or unfriendly, I'm just afraid to join and be rejected. Yeah, sometimes real life is a lot like junior high.
