I worked on different things this weekend.

The one thing that's at the most photogenic point is the garden quilt:

gardenquilt1

I got all the strips that I had laid out sewn together (16 of 32) and I put together 7 of those before I burned out on sewing (my sewing room is at the "tail end" of the duct system for the a/c, and it's also just about as far from my dehumidifier as you can get in the house - so it gets kind of warm and muggy in there in the summer).

Here's a closeup of the quilt showing some of the fabrics in more detail. I particularly like the foxglove print (it's a Kaffe Fassett) and the geranium print (the one on the pale bluish-green background).

I think in recent years (months?) my taste in colors has changed; I would have considered these colors almost unattractively lurid a few years ago (I was more in a Civil War reproduction-fabric mode, or a very sugary pastel 1930s-reproduction mode) but now I really like them.

I also worked some more on the Horseshoe Crab socks; I may get the first one done this week.

Love the quilt! It looks wonderful. And now that we are planning the move for the first week of September I am looking at furniture with a different eye, this one saying, couch, hmm, nice... Lol.
