Having a really hard time getting motivated to start working this morning, so here are a few random things...
Kucki has a drunkard's path quilt up - she's arranged the blocks a little differently; it reminds me of those outlines of flying hawks that people cut out of black paper and put on their windows to keep birds from running into them.
She claims, "the whole thing does not even get close to pretty," but I really like the design. I might do a quilt like that someday - I like the graphic quality of it.

I'm still cutting on my most current quilt. I'm not a big fan of cutting, even with a rotary cutter. I have to take it in small doses.

I have a lot of fabric ahead and several quilts I want to start. I just wish I had more time (or someone else to do the cutting for me so I could just sit and sew.)

More amigurumi:
Hungry, hungry hippo (remember that game? What colors were the hippos? I know there was a yellow one, and I think a hot pink one...)
Extremely cute baby seal (as I said before: as much as I like the "big head/humanoid" Japanese style amigurumi, I think I prefer the toys that have more the realistic shape of the animal they're mimicking.)
A fairly simple rabbit (I also think I like the amigurumi better that are the less elaborate ones - this one appeals to me.)
Snowy owlet toy.

And speaking of owls...I don't know where I ran across the link to it but I found someone making a reference online to Owly, a series of very cute, very winsome "graphic novels" featuring (as you might guess) a little owl.
There are "mini comics" online (on the righthand side of the page I linked to) that you can read to get the feel. It's an interesting style - no words, just symbols and gestures and expressions. (Which means it would work for pre-reader kids, and also would work for non-English speakers, and also, with kids, you could encourage them to make up the dialog or the narration as they go along).
The stories are sweet but not cloying. I ordered a couple of the books and they just came...they're really soothing to "read."

Hi, I like the pattern variation of the drunkard's path. I was reminded of birds as well. I was referring to the color scheme when I called the thing ugly. But I am with you, I want to make another one. Actually black birds on a blue sky might be cool. So many quilts, so little time...

acid yellow, hot pink, lime green, and ummmmmmmm, sherbet orange? maybe licentious lilac? (i'm reaching here, lol)
