I just found out one of my colleagues had a cousin who was killed in the attack.
Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your colleague. It is all so terribly painful. But thank you so much for the wonderful comment you left on my blog. It was powerfully comforting.
Once I knew that all the little ones who I used to cradle in my arms, who I read to on Story Hour Wednesday, were safe - I just quit delving into the news stories. I am doing exactly as you suggest. I scan the headlines but I don't read details. I don't want to hear the talking heads. I understand that in a world with 6 billion people in it there are going to be wackos - tragicaly flawed people.
When I get that cramped sensation I go brush my dogs. They're shedding anyway but stroking their warm bodies and feeling them nuzzle me is a tremendous comfort.
Odd how knitting isn't much help. I think it's too close to home for me. But dogs. Well. Dogs are a great comfort to a dog sort of girl.
Thank you for caring enough to comment. It was a great good loving gift. Thank you.
