As I said, I finished two of the pairs of socks I've been working on.
First, the Opal Magic socks:
These are just simple socks - I think I used 68 stitches on size 1 needles, and used a round heel and a round toe. I made the effort to match the patterns on both socks. Even with having to cut a lot out in the "middle" of the ball (to be able to start the second sock at the same point in the pattern as the first), I had quite a bit of yarn left over.
I'm not sure why this line was called "Magic." Maybe it's the shading from dark pink to light pink.
I also finished the Feather and Fan socks. These are made of a Meilenweit colortweed. The yarn is considerably less stretchy than some other all-wool sock yarns I've used
Again, I made an effort to start the socks at the same point. They almost match. (On the first sock I made, there was a join in the ball I had to cut out, so the color patterns got a tiny bit off).
Here's a closeup (taken without flash under my fluorescent bulbs so the color's a bit off) showing the lace patterning.
This is one of my favorite patterns to knit for socks. I've made a couple pairs off of it for myself, and several as gifts for people.
