Jennifer: pink noise (to me at least) sounds "warmer" and "rounder" than white noise. White noise sounds kind of hard and prickly compared to pink noise. White noise sounds like something that could hurt you; pink noise sounds kind of "furry." (I have a small amount of synesthesia, I guess - I can describe sounds as feelings and I sometimes "taste" colors).

Pink noise is often described as being more like running water and white noise is described as being more like static on a radio.
