Sometimes,

barleys1

You just have to stop and take a look at your knitting

barleys2

And really look at it

barleys3

and tell yourself it's some kind of wonderful.

(Yes - I finished the first Barley Sugar Columns cabled sock last night. Cast on for the second one, too. I've finished a few things over the past couple days and that seems to be giving me momentum to get more things finished.

I'm still thinking about the idea of a little self-published booklet of my Patterns For People who Read Too Much Nonfiction [I think that's going to be the name]. It'll have these in it, and the number-sequence hat idea, and the quark scarf (which I'm rattling around in my brain right now: bobbles, or intarsia, or some kind of funky fair-isle pattern, or what?). And anything else I come up with in the next few months.)

nice sock! yellow's not my bag, but that sock is gorgeous. love the pattern. and yippee about the meeting!

i hate it when people decide things for me, and don't inform me until way late.

Those are really neat looking. The pattern and the yarn seem to suit each other really well.
