I had not heard about the train bombings in Mumbai (Bombay).

I have had a GREAT many Indian (or Indian-American) friends, colleagues, and students over the years. Some of them had relatives in that part of the world. Most all of them have been wonderful, beautiful people. (I am thinking in particular of the allergist I had for YEARS when I lived in Illinois...)

My heart goes out to everyone who lost loved ones. Such a horrible way to make any political point, whatever it may be - assassinating people's mothers or brothers or fathers or doctors or teachers or students or whoever...

I only hope that there will come a day (and with an even greater extension of hope that I will be around to see it) when people lay down their arms, at least against attacking civilians.

Especially attacking civilians. I suppose humans will always have warfare, so armed forces are to handle conflicts, not people on their way to work or home...
