One of my students, in the last of several e-mails aimed at working out a time to make up something she missed, wished me a "blessed weekend."

that makes me happy. One of the things I like about living where I do is that people don't feel shy about saying things like that. (I suppose I might feel different were I an atheist, but I'm not so I don't.)
