thanks for the comments.
part of it is just plain being flat old tired. Yesterday the only time I had 'to myself' was about 15 minutes between washing my hair and falling asleep after the cookout last night, and now tonight I have a meeting with Retired Ladies - who have no compunctions about keeping meetings going late, late, late. (And as I'm titular head of the group - even though I'm the busiest - I'm stuck there until Meeting winds down).
And I made a major screwup on the last exam in class today. A student asked me a confused question, which confused me, which led me to make an announcement ("change question 11 to read...") that confused the whole class. I'm just giving everyone the point, because some people were obviously really confused. I hate it when I mess up publicly like that. So I feel like an idiot.
And it's killingly humid here. I haven't been able to work out properly since Monday. I didn't even TRY getting up this morning because I could hear my dehumidifier running all night, and I knew I'd be gasping for breath. (Well, also I have to admit I was finally in a good sleeping position, and the right temperature, and I was doing the old Cute Overload "so comfterbuls" and didn't want to get up...) So now I also feel guilty about not working out, and I'm thinking of my annual checkup in a few weeks, and the lecture I will get from my (thin) GYN who doesn't totally understand that the calories in/calories out equation isn't quite that simple for some of us. (Seriously. I burn off like 800 calories every time I exercise - if the counter is to be trusted. I'm not eating THAT much. I SHOULD be 20 pounds lighter if the calories eaten = calories burned equation was strictly that).
Edited to add: Just in case some of you don't believe me:
That was this afternoon. It gets marginally less humid in the afternoons, so IF I can find an hour in which I am not going to be interrupted (and IF I have the 20 minutes or so it takes to shower and re-dress before I go back out), I can do exercise then.
(the speed is at 0 because that was after I was done. Even I'm not fool enough to try to photograph the thing as I'm actually using it.)
