Your Inner Child Is Sad |
You're a very sensitive soul. You haven't grown that thick skin that most adults have. Easily hurt, you tend to retreat to your comfort zone. You don't let many people in - unless you've trusted them for a long time. |
(Except WE actually prefer the term, "pensive").
And yes to not having the thick skin. I wish I could learn the secret of that.
My first self-care birthday present came today. I went ahead and opened the box because it looked like it had quite a hard journey and was squashed and ripped a bit.
But what was inside arrived just fine:
The fellow on the left is supposed to be a bison although the coloring seems wrong to me. His "given" name is Bryson, which seems acceptable enough to me. The sea lion was originally named "Swizzle," but I have renamed her (I decided "she" was a "her" when I took her out of the box) Serafina.
Also, here's a shot of the newest sock on the needles.
"Knitting the Welt Fantastic"
Bad pun, pretty sock. The pattern is called "Welt Fantastic" and is from Charlene Schurch's sock book. The yarn is KnitPicks "Simple Stripes," I think the color is called "Vineyard."
And, since we're on the subject of inner children here, a small conversation:
Serafina: "Well, it seems to me we've wound up in the house of a knitter."
Bryson: "Is that good or bad?"
Serafina: "Well, it depends. Generally knitters have a high respect for fiber and anything made of it, which is good for us, seeing as we're fiber. But they're also known for wanting to put sweaters on anything that moves - or on many things that don't."
Bryson: "I don't care as long as it's not sissy. I don't want a sissy sweater. Or a 'moncho.' But something with cables would be okay."
Funny, but in my mind now I "hear" Serafina as being a bit older than Bryson, and somewhat motherly, in a Kanga sort of sense. And Bryson - he's not quite a child but he's definitely not fully grown up. Perhaps sort of a teenage bison, but without the bad attitude and acne.
