Well, they haven't caught the alleged murderer yet (I suspect he's somewhere well out of the country, probably somewhere without a US extradition treaty by now) but they did convict three "yutes" (I always hear that guy in "My Cousin Vinny" when they talk about youths committing crimes) of blowing up mailboxes. (edited to add: with homemade pipe bombs. I'd probably be less harsh on them if it had just been little firecrackers but these guys could have easily killed someone)

the guys' defense? they were bored.

they won't be bored now - they got sent to a (fairly tough) boot-camp program for juvenile offenders.

I dunno, I suppose it's because I have so much to do and so little time but it kind of makes my blood boil when I hear of people destroying property (and causing fear in an otherwise-quiet neighborhood) because they were "bored." I remember being "bored" as a kid - it's something that you just deal with. (And when I claimed to be "bored"? My mom would find chores for me to do. So I went out and looked for bugs or found a book to read or something like that).
