Wel, I'm glad I have the little fingerless mitts I made earlier this fall
*. Apparently the massive windstorm we had Sunday night
did something to totally wrecked the heating plant in this part of the building and it is cold. Cold enough for me to complain about it, which means it's pretty cold. (Ironically? The classrooms, labs, and even our research labs are on a different system so they have heat. I suppose this means that I'm spending the afternoon weighing dry plant matter in the research lab, despite the fact that I'm wearing a wool sweater and a skirt and pantyhose and will turn into the Hay Monster. Because I can't imagine trying to read or enter data in my office, and I promised my students I'd be around this afternoon if any had questions about the paper they have due Monday.)
what I'd really like to do this afternoon is go home and make myself a big cup of tea and put on some Christmas music and knit. But I'd have to go out again at 4 pm anyway (it's my day to man the food bank - since yesterday was the last day of the month and typically when unemployment checks come, I don't anticipate having anyone, but we'll see).
I don't know. I'm still just really tired.
