I also got the sleeve caps done, and the sleeve stitches put on holders, for Fibonacci:

It looks a bit more like a sweater now.

I'm really liking the Araucania Nature Wool for this. In the dark colors, the slight ombre effect to the yarn (it's unevenly dyed) makes it look sort of "velvety" from a distance, even though it is a plain smooth wool yarn. I have another sweater's worth of this - in the burgundy color you can see on the sweater above - for a simple rib stitch cardigan.

Next step is to keep knitting in pattern (I think a good title for a novel, or perhaps a book of philisophical essays about life, would be the old knitting instruction, "continue in pattern") for about 14 more inches. Then it's the button band and neck band. Then the sleeves. Then, it's done. I think this is going to be one of my carry-along projects at Christmas; I'll also have a better shot at some nifty buttons up where I'm traveling to. (I suppose I COULD order them online, but I kind of like picking out buttons "in person")
