As much as I love Giant Microbes, somehow this kind of skeeves me out.

Can you see someone giving this as a gift to someone (I can imagine a horrible situation: someone sending one to an ex-lover with a card saying "And you've got its inspiration, too!")

I have the yeast one - but yeast is a GOOD microbe. And I have the "bookworm." And Giardia, even though it's a gross disease, the giant microbe of it is pretty darn cute.

I keep hoping they will come up with some of the soil microbes. Several of the species of Nitrosomonas would make rather attractive Giant Microbes. And I'd love a plush version of Rhizobium or a mycorrhizal fungal spore (and some of them come in such pretty colors, too!)

(And I have to say: hahahahaha "Dirtland", awesome. No, seriously, it is awesome - I'm going to have to bookmark it and use some of that information in my classes. And proof I'm still a little sleep-deprived: the fact that they have a section called Poo Corner is making me giggle like a ten-year-old)

Took a peek at the microbe and ha ha--and ew!

I should show the Dirtland site to those I know who insist going around barefoot in some questionable places...
