Well, I began the process of solarizing stuff this morning. It took seven bags (20 gallon garbage bags) to hold the sweaters, shawls, accessories (hats, scarves, mittens...), blazers, and the one wool dress I own. I put things that had even a tiny percentage of wool in.
It's going to be exhausting dealing with the stash, I can tell that now. But I saw a m*th again last night so I need to do it.
Annnnnd: I cannot access my webmail this morning. It keeps saying "connection refused." I'm vaguely aware that the company (Communicomm) is based somewhere in the Louisiana/Mississippi area. I don't know if this is another effect of the hurricane - there's no one answering the "help line" so I have my fears that the good folks at my Internet company had to bail. (At least I can check any comments I've received on my blog). I'm still kind of in disbelief of all the people who have been really horribly affected by this. Resolved: Not complaining about gas prices. Reason: I still have a house to go to at the end of the day.
I've had to stop watching the news coverage; it seems a lot of the news channels have gone to the "stop random person who is evacuating/trying to find water and food/trying to locate family members and stick the microphone in their face and ask them how they FEEL about the situation." I mean, GOSH. How do you THINK they feel, Einstein?
