Random Wednesday Thought:

Cleaning dogcrap out of the treads of your shoes at 6:55 am is not a good way to start your day.

One of my bad habits is that I tend to see everything as symbolic, but somehow that does seem to be symbolic of my life some times - that I get stuck with cleaning up messes, which I had no part in making (and which I do not get to enjoy the source of). And that the messes disgust me. And that they need to be cleaned up at inopportune times.

(Is there ever an opportune time for cleaning up a mess?)

There was also a discussion on the socknitter list a few days ago about whether or not it's okay to ask people to take their shoes off when they come in the house. While I don't ask people to take their shoes off, I do myself when I come home - and just for reasons like this. (There are people in my neighborhood who let their dogs run free - there's neither a leash law nor a "scoop the poop" law in my town). And some of the dogs are "stealth poopers" who tend to do it in places you'd not expect. (And since I leave the house before it's light, and often return after it's dark - THANK YOU DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME! THANK YOU GOVERNMENT FOR **EXTENDING** DAYLIGHT SAVINGS STARTING NEXT YEAR SO I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS EVEN LONGER! - I often don't see 'hazards' on my lawn.)

So I'm in a cruddy mood right now. I still think I can smell what I cleaned out of my shoe, even though I washed both my shoe and my hands well with antibacterial soap.
