I am almost done with the second armwarmer. And I was thinking, this morning, about the agonizing balance I strike as a knitter - the balance between the joy and satisfaction of finishing projects, and the excitement of starting new ones. I've got a bunch of small projects - a couple pair of socks, a scarf, a hat - on the needles that I could turn to next. I've also got the bigger projects - the Verona shawl, the Hiawatha shawl, the Bookworm vest - that need my attention.
But I also look at the Monet-color "Lion Suede" and the big cake of Morehouse Bulky and the "Fishknit Wrap" pattern I turned up while putting some books away, and I think how fun it would be to start one of those. Or mittens. Or another hat.
It's much cooler today - like 20* cooler this morning than it has been any morning this week - and it's a lot less humid. I am totally feeling it. I knew the weather was better this morning because it didn't hurt at all to work out - normally, the first ten minutes or so I'm a little creaky and my breathing is off. But this morning, everything worked right from the first minute. I hope the weather stays this way for a while.
