Like Diann, I am well and truly sick of summer. There had been a few days' respite when we had rainy weather (fall is our rainy season) but now it's back to summer. (They're predicting a heat index of near 105 today). I just want it to be fall. School is back in session - that means, it's supposed to be fall. (I don't remember, when I was a kid, school starting so EARLY in August - I think my schools started after Labor Day. And I don't remember lots of really hot days at the start of the school year. Really, the start of the new school year was more like New Year's to me than New Year's was - for one thing, even as a kid, I wasn't a fan of summer heat, and I liked the new beginning a new school year represented.)

In knitting news, I finished the first green sock last night. Either I misread the toe decreases or there's an error in the pattern, I had to fudge a bit and also had 18, rather than 16, stitches to Kitchener at the end.

I'm also wearing the shape-it! scarf that I made earlier this summer today. I have a sort of coral-colored knit dress that it matches well with. Although if it's warm in the classroom, I may well be taking the scarf off midday.
