Not too much going on here. I'm looking forward to getting to meet Diann on Friday and maybe do a little stash-enhancement in McKinney.
I started a new pair of socks - just barely started - last night. I'm using the Dancing yarn from KnitPicks in the colorway called "Tap" (mostly purple, pink, and blue with some yellow, orange, and green). Just got a tiny bit of ribbing done. The plan was to take it along - had a 5:30 meeting at church and a 6:30 meeting, and it's never clear whether the 5:30 will run right up to the 6:30, and even if there'll be anyone else there between the meetings. As it turned out, there were enough people there that I didn't knit, I'm still not sure how many people think it's rude or it's OK for me to knit while I talk to them - I mean, I'm certainly on no deadline.
I'm less reticent about doing the knitting-while-talking around family or around other people I know who knit, because I know they get it, that I'm not sending out "I'm ignoring you" vibes as I knit.
It's 29* C in my office today. The handy-dandy Google converter tells me that's 84.2 degrees Fahrenheit. That's IN MY OFFICE, not outdoors. There's the sound of whooshing air above be so the a/c is purportedly on, but I feel nothing.
I wonder at what point I can refuse to be in my office, on the grounds it's bad for me (or at least bad for my appearence of personal hygiene) until they make it cool?
I'd rather it be too cold in my office - 'cos then, at least I'd be able to wear my shawls and little cardigans and whatever to keep warm; I can't take anything more off and still be decent and professional-looking.
This may be the summer I give up my imagined need to wear hose with skirts and dresses. Even with my fishbelly-white legs. (A friend at church informs me that there's some kind of skin-lotion that supposedly slightly dyes your legs as it moisturizes. I'm tempted to check it out, but knowing my funky body chemistry I'd probably turn green or something).
