Pictures!

Here's a full view of how far I am on the Hiawatha stole:

And this is a closeup of the "side panel." There are three different stitches in there, on the outside is a leafy stitch that is called "Flower of the Forest" in the pattern, then next is an Arrowhead stitch, and the innermost stitch-pattern is called "Waterfall" in the pattern but I think its "real" name is something else. Each stitch panel is separated by a band of fagoting (k2, yo, k2tog for every row).

I'm about midway through the sixth repeat; I think I am going to do the full ten after all, and if the shawl is long, it will just be long and I will be able to wrap it around myself.

After I finish this side panel, I pull out the orange yarn and pick up those stitches and knit the second half identically to this one.

Added, 10:40: Okay, I will admit it. Allergies are kicking my tail, too (So many bloggers have been complaining). The fact that my cycle-related anxiety and insomnia are coinciding with The Week Where I Need To Get Everything Done isn't helping. Went to bed early last night, had fever-dreams all night long like I do this time every month. At one point, had to get out of bed and stare at the Weather Channel for a while to clear the bad stuff out of my head. Couldn't drag my butt out of bed to exercise this morning; I'm hoping to get my allergy shot shortly after my last class today, then spend the two hours required "no strenuous activity time" grading the exam I gave today and buying some supplies at Wal-Mart because the person who was supposed to buy them crapped out on it had some other commitment on her time. Then, maybe, this afternoon, force myself to work out. I don't know. I've been really achy this week and uncharacteristically, exercise is not helping with that.

Seriously, I'm just TIRED. I am looking at the world through a one-inch window right now because if I try to think more than a couple hours in advance, I think of all I have to get done and I start to freak out.
