A little ditty:

I'm longing to start something new,
yes, longing to start something new.

I've purple homespun for a shawl
a shrug's worth of Rowan in blue
Fable's the yarn for the Bookworm
And sockyarns of 'most every hue.

I've scarf patterns galore,
yarn breaking down the door
I've even assayed
to do some crochet
But I really want something more...

So I'm longing to start something new
Something nifty and exciting to do.

I'm tired of the moebius scarf
And that cranberry sweater - Zelda who?
Hiawatha's becoming a bore
And I'm tired of the cabled socks too.

So I want to start something new
But it's really not the thing to do
I'm best to suck it up, buck up and take
"continue in pattern" as an instructional clue.

(Okay, so it doesn't scan perfectly. You try to do as well in four and a half minutes.)
