Linkdump.
If your week has been half the bummer mine has been, I feel for you. So here's a mess 'o' timewasting or bizarre or funny or nice links. Most of these have been posted before; I'm just picking through my "bookmark" file.
Cat memory game This is the one with Tom Jones singing "What's New, Pussycat" (I always forget to turn the speakers down in my office when I click on it. I suppose that gives the chap in the next office something to contemplate about me). You are shown a bunch of pictures of cats, then have to pick the one you are not shown. If you do it right, Tom says "You remember cat good!" which always makes me giggle.
Backyard Nature Mostly aimed at kids, but has some interesting stuff on it.
Weather World 2010. Very complete very detailed site. In case you were wondering about the Coriolis effect or El Nino.
Hangaroo game Like Hangman, but with a really irritating kangaroo commentator.
How to put a picture on a geranium leaf I am not sure why, but there it is.
Sock Monkey instructions.
Links to Botanical Image collections, University of Wisconsin.
Neuroscience "for kids" (or for other people who want to know about it but aren't experts already)
Beautiful pictures of sea stars and other echinoderms
The Grow Your Chi game. Okay, normally I roll my eyes at something that seems so psychobabbly, but there is something amusing - and almost comforting - about this one. And the Chi Pet looks like a sheep.
And...the SECOND most random, bizarre, and nonsensical thing I have found on the Web:
The Prime Number Pooping Bear.
It was once the MOST random, bizarre, and nonsensical thing, but I think the Viking Raw Chicken Hat pattern edges it out.
