A while back (perhaps a year?) there was a thing going around for knitbloggers to post photos of their workspace. Well, I didn't have a camera at that point, so here and now is a picture of one of my workspaces:

Yes, that's my bed. And I know they tell us insomniacal types not to work in bed, but if I work sitting on my bed during the day, it doesn't seem to affect me. And I can knit while I work! (note the Dolman Updated sitting there). I've got my journals and book, I've got a notepad and pencil (never, ever use a pen while sitting on a quilt). I've even got a sharpener for the pencil that corrals all of the shavings.

Those who are SpongeBob fans may notice the pillow of Gary the Snail. That was an impulse purchase last summer at the Claire's in the mall. But as it turns out, ol' Gar' makes a good backrest while I'm working. And he was cheaper than the pillows sold to support your back while working.

I got through a couple of useful articles (and one that's not so useful) yesterday, took a bunch of notes, and also got the sleeve increases halfway done on the left back of the sweater. I plan to work like this again today.

No more sign of thieves; I happened to mention the incident to someone and she said it wasn't uncommon here in town for people to drive through neighborhoods and send their kids out of the car to "retrieve" anything that wasn't nailed down and that could be sold. Sick. People never fail to amaze me. (But at least I don't feel like I'm expecting a house break-in any time soon)

Yeah, I agree. On one hand, I felt better when I heard that it was a roving team of opportunists (rather than someone who might be stalking/targeting me) but it makes me feel WORSE to think that someone's corrupted their kids into that lifestyle.

This isn't a new phenomenon. My parents parted with a new hose and reel at least once a year for a couple of years and it was attached to the side of the house! After the second year, my dad only took it out of our toolshed when he wanted to water the lawn. We're talking at least 30 years ago.
