Thanks for the nice comments and emails about the shawl.

I cast on and began the SitCom Chic made of Schachenmayer Rainbow the other night. I'm not very far, and I wound up having to do major "surgery" to correct a couple of dropped stitches - cotton on Addi Turbos means you shouldn't stop in the middle of your row to put your knitting down.

(But I sort of had to at that point, because): I'm not feeling too great today because I am $300 poorer and I have a terribly sore jaw. It was dental checkup, x-ray update, and fix small cavity in the furthest possible back tooth in my lower left jaw.

Even though the cavity was small, holding my mouth open to allow them to put the Bondo (or whatever they use now that they don't use amalgam fillings) in and cure it lead to a great deal of discomfort. I actually considered stopping off at the donut shop and getting a donut rather than my regular bowl of crunchy cereal this morning. (No, I didn't, but eating the cereal wasn't much fun).

I feel kind of like I've been in a very minor car wreck. I tense up at the dentist anyway, so I hurt all over, not just my jaw. (They offer nitrous oxide, but I don't want it for three reasons: 1. extreme claustrophobia about having anything interfering with my breathing. 2. I have to drive myself home and I don't know how I react to the stuff. 3. I have weeeeiiiird reactions to other medications, so I'd be afraid it would make me barf or some other horribly embarrassing thing.)
