oh, my. Handworks Gallery is having a "private sale" for their "good" customers (I don't know what constitutes a "good" customer; I've ordered from them three or four times and they have my email in their database, I guess).
and dang it, I can't remember how many skeins of "Legend" that scarf/shawl thing in the most recent FCEK takes, or I'd be all over that. I will have to check when I get home. (I suppose I could also make a quick suggestion-call to my mom; after all, my birthday is coming up).
I REALLY want a garment made out of a yarn called "Joan of Arc."
Artful Yarns really has my number - name their yarns, not after colors, but after characters or works of art. I don't know what you would call that marketing ploy, but it works on me. (And it's funny that even though I recognize that it is a marketing ploy, I still enjoy it and still want the yarns. But they are good yarns, at that).
I wonder if their next line will be "Poetry", named after the different forms. I can almost see it:
"Haiku" would be a lacquer-red and black combination, perhaps with a bit of green
"Sonnet" would have to be soft in color- maybe pink or a nice sky blue
I see "Villanelle" as a pink and yellow combination (What? Well, I *like* pink and yellow together)
"Ballad" could be dark somber colors, or "Epic" could be "masculine" colors.
"Limerick" could be shades of green
"Vers Libre" would be bright, pop-py colors, maybe taken from a Cubist painting.
Dang. I wonder if Artful Yarns' creative department is hiring?
