Finished the tiny ted last night. I am pleased to report that once he got his nose and claws, he stopped looking like a mouse and started looking like a teddy bear.
So that gift is finished. I even have the perfect box for him, a little house-shaped printed box I ran across on my most recent trip to Albertson's. So I'm going to put a little pad in there, set him on it, and then tie the roof on the house (the box's lid) with a ribbon. No need to wrap! (I never seem to keep wrapping paper well from one holiday to the next and then have to go out and buy new).
I am also almost done with the heel flap on the second of the Regia socks. These are the Norwegier ones I've been working on since (I think) March. They are at such a tight gauge (72 sts on 1's, which I think is about 9 sts to the inch) and are all stockinette, so it's hard for me to work up a lot of enthusiasm for them. (I think my future self-patterning socks will be 64 sts on 2's - the gauge is enough looser not to hurt my hands to work on it, and the sock seems to go faster. And I don't think they will wear out that much faster - I've been knitting and wearing socks for more than five years and have yet to have one of my handknit socks wear a hole through it.)
