Worked on the Canal du Midi socks last night. I am pleased to report that the pattern DOES show up, although subtly, in the variegated yarn. So no frogging for me.
I'm also beginning to understand the rhythm of this pattern. I am (in part) a kinesthetic learner, so once my hands understand how the pattern works and where it repeats, the work gets easier and faster for me.
I am also itching to acquire two skeins each of Portrait and Cinema in complementary colors and make the moss-stitch scarf shown in the Holiday issue of Vogue Knits. Yes, yes, I have fifteen or so scarves now and live in a climate where scarf-wearing is a viable option for perhaps three months out of the year (and even then not every day), but it's so darn pretty.
