I needed that.

I did nothing all weekend that was work-related, save for reading a bit in an inter-library-loan book on island biogeography, and that only because the book is due Friday.

Other than that, I knitted. I worked some on the dream scarf - it is *this* close to being finished, a couple more repeats of the design and it will be long enough. I worked a little on the Canal du Midi socks. I wound off the Cartoon with the thought of doing the "Shape It" scarf sometime soon. I wound off the Kureopatora because I had the swift and ballwinder out, and while I was at it, I rewound the ball of leftover Interlacements into a lower-tension yarn cake.

I began the Fall Foliage socks - just simple socks, 64 stitiches on size 2 needles, a 1x1 rib. Except, I am knitting the knit stitches through the back of the loop to make the ribs stand out more nicely (something I learned from the Canal du Midi socks - that is one of the things I love about knitting; you see something used somewhere and think "gee, that's neat" and then you can incorporate it into other things).

I also knit two dishcloths, just the simple pattern here, but I had brown and blue variegated Lion Cotton. One of my mother's friends' favorite color combinations is brown and blue, so these are going to be part of her Christmas present.

Finally, I knit the hat of the Bernat Boa. This is the simple, one-ball pattern that is on some of the ball bands. I have not sewn it up yet but it is otherwise finished. I'm still leaning towards making a miniature teddy bear as my AAUW gift-exchange gift this year. I'm not sure what I will do with the Boa hat and scarf (yet to be made), but I suppose I will find someone to give it to as a gift.

A good weekend, but you know? I could still use one more day of doing "nothing".
