Finished sewing up the Circus pullover last night. Mattress stitch is not all that bad, even on reverse stockinette. I use embroidery floss stripped down to three strands to sew up my bulky sweaters - it comes in a wide range of colors, it's cheap, it's readily available (even in a town whose only store is Wal-Mart), it's easy to work with.
Not sure what the next sweater-project will be. I'm torn between starting the "Grandpa's Cardigan" of the wine-colored Aurucana wool and doing the furry vest (using Mondial "Fur") that was in the Winter '00 Vogue Knits - I've had the yarn for this in-stash for quite some time and it sort of called to me.
I probably won't get much knitting done this week anyway - I have meetings or activities every night of the week (ending with book club, at my house (bleat) on Thursday. I hope I can cut out early Thursday afternoon to sweep and to clean the bathroom. I love my friends but I think they'd talk about it if I had a dirty bathroom).
and one of the meetings this week promises to be emotional and uncomfortable and filled with controversy. I don't feel like giving more detail on it here, just, it's a situation I wish hadn't come up and that I'm a little too meek to say what I'd like to say about it.
