Terrible sore throat this morning, coupled with a stuffy head. Think I'm going to skip church for today (couldn't sing, talking would be uncomfortable, plus I'm tired and borderline headachy).
I feel moved to start a pair (or more) of CIC socks. For those unfamiliar, Children in Common is the Socknitter's list charity. It sends wool socks to orphanages in the former Soviet bloc - orphanages that are unheated, very impoverished, and some of which have (I presume) children suffering from AIDS and other chronic illnesses. I have a few odd balls of DK or heavier weight yarn. I'm going to see if a 50 g ball of Big Ben is enough for little-kid socks. It will also be a way to clear out the dribs and drabs of leftovers I have.
I also finished the garter-stitch Fun Fur and Watercolors scarf last night. Trust me, you do need 3 balls of each to make a scarf that is proportionally long enough. (I have a bit of the Fun Fur left over). I also worked some on the scarf based on the dream-pattern, but it's progressing more slowly.
