I finished the Provence quilt top today.
I decided that having a big block of time open this afternoon would be good for that. Once I get going on a sewing project I am inclined to keep going, but if I have limited time, I tend not to sew (but to knit or handquilt instead).
So I finished sewing up all the little rectangles that make the pieced border, sewed on the long inner borders (which I had to piece the strips for; I cut them the wrong way and instead of having 72" strips I had 44" strips). Then all it took was sewing them on and (the scariest step) mitering the corners.
My miters are not perfect. I have never in my life made a perfect miter. But they are good enough that the quilt will lay flat, and they are good enough that you can't see the imperfection without looking closely.
I also finished the first of my mom's Christmas-gift socks yesterday, and hope to get more done on the second one while watching "The Simpsons" (finally, back on) tonight.
