Spent some time last night both on the quilt-in-the-frame (the "fancy" blocks are going to take a while, I can see that: they have a feather wreath in them where the plain blocks just have straight lines) and on the Trinity Stitch shawl (note to self: do NOT try to read a book while working on that shawl (had to rip back and recount twice)).

Teresa (of One More Row) was writing about her dislike of big needles. Yeah, me too. I knit two afghans (one for my brother and sister in law's wedding gift, one as a present for my folks) on these and I hated every stitch. Even 13's feel big to me. The tradeoff is how fast the thing gets knit up.

I do notice that my hands hurt more after working with big needles than they do with small ones. I think I grip the needles differently. I think about 8's or 9's are the most comfortable for me, actually (that's bigger sizes than some of the small-needle fans).

and I am LOVING the Pony Pearl needles. I think they are my new favorites, replacing my treasured Brittanys....
