Feeling aguey. (Where have all the good, generalized-symptom diseases gone? No one ever gets "the ague" or "la grippe" any more). I think I'm getting a cold. And it's chilly and rainy again, although you'd not guess that in the overheated office I am stuck with.
My book club meeting was postponed until tomorrow night, so as soon as I finish typing the rewrite to my milkweed proposal, I'm going to go home, figure out something simple for dinner, and then spend the evening knitting.
I quilted some last night - the first block of the quilt is done - but I don't think I have the energy for that tonight. I find hand-quilting takes more of my concentration than knitting does.
and a public answer to Teresa's question about the "standard Opal sock": I wear a U.S. 8.5 women's shoe. (this seems to translate to size 38 in Birkenstocks, which the company claims is a 7. My feet aren't that small). At any rate, my feet are 9.25 to 9.75 inches long (depending on the foot - my right foot is slightly bigger - and where I measure.)
I've made 2 pair of Opals, both with legs 8" long and feet 9.75 " long and always had some left over. So you can make the leg fairly long if you want to, for me 8" is about the upper limit because I don't like/need the knee socks look.
