Went home "early" (didn't actually miss any classes or cancel office hours) yesterday. Sat at home drinking orange juice and using saline nasal spray and trying to get rid of the cold.

I knit quite a bit on the ribbed portion of the Seaman's scarf whilst reading textbook chapters.

and: A found UFO.
Digging in my closet the other day, looking for a bag to put some books in, I ran across a tote bag stuffed with yarn. It was my afghan that I started back in '99, stuffed in the back of the closet when I moved to my house, and it has been a while since I worked on it.

It's out of Bernat Soft Boucle. It's a feather and fan pattern, it was free on the label.
I pulled it out and looked at it. I remember when I stuffed it away, it was because I thought I had gotten off-count and the feathers and fans would be out of step with each other. But when I looked at it now, I could detect no such error.

So I started knitting on it again. My goal now is to finish all the objects I have tucked away various places and be totally free to start things new without the bad karma of ghost projects haunting me.

also it's almost like a new project when it's been sitting idle that long.

the "True" UFOs I have (as in, haven't worked on recently) are
The afghan (which I have now rescued and am working on)
A pair of Zig Zag socks from Vogue Socks 1 (I hate hate hate that kind of colorwork but am too stubborn and have too much effort invested to rip back what I have done so far - I am going to grit my teeth and finish them)
A crocheted hat made of Woolspun that's tucked away somewhere (lost interest when I wasn't finishing it in time to wear last winter).
My "Spools" quilt (less neglected than the others but really, 3 or 4 concentrated hours of work would probably finish the quilting on it.

So now my free-time goal is to F some O's (ooh, that doesn't sound too good, does it...I mean, of course, Finish some Objects).
