I did a variety of things this weekend...
I am now past the third buttonhole (and the armhole shaping) on the right front of the Landlord cardigan. I plan to finish that tonight if nothing pressing comes up. I'm going to do the sleeves (when I get to them) both at once on the circular, like I did the sleeves for the Sand sweater. I think that works better for me.
I also finished the "cherub" pillowcases - did the last bit of embroidery on them Friday night.
I have the top and bottom borders for the Provence quilt pieced, and one side border about half pieced.
I also knitted a bunch on the "cookie monster fur" scarf. And some on the socks I have going.
And I went to the garden center. My garden now has some dianthus (dark reddish pink and white) some dusty miller, a couple more begonias, and, among perennials, a yarrow, a bee-balm, and a painted daisy.
It's raining now, thanks to Faye. It rained all day yesterday and it looks like today is going to be an all-day rain.
I have a new scarf in the queue - the October issue of "Victoria" had a spread on clothes that was shot on Cape Breton. There was a grey scarf (which they called crocheted but was clearly knitted) that I liked - it looked like 2 rows stockinette with one garter rib row.
I'm playing around in my head, thinking of how that would work out - p 2 rows, then k 2 rows? I'm thinking I will do a few rows of garter at the ends to prevent curling. I have some grey Muskoka stashyarn I want to use for this.
Somehow, I get into a "scarf mood" every fall. I like making scarves because they are meditative - once you set up the pattern, there is no shaping, so you can just knit and not have to pay too much attention. I often read books while I knit on scarves.
I also bought a few skeins of clearanced "Berella 4" in masculine colors, with the thought that I'm going to make some seaman's scarves and send them to "Christmas at Sea".
