Well, I lost part of the evening last night.
I get migraine headaches periodically, most often when there's been some huge change in the weather. Well, a big honkin' cold front roared through yesterday morning (causing the rain that cancelled fieldwork). I had a headache all day but sort of denied it, took Advil, still had headache (that should have been a sign), when I went home for lunch I thought "gee, this food smells vivid" (that should have been a big, big sign - when my sense of smell gets that much more sensitive, it's a migraine). But I went back and worked. At about 4 I realized my head was killing me.
So I had to go home and crawl in bed for a couple hours. By that time it's too late to take anything. The worst part was that with the pressure change, my teeth were throbbing as well. Finally it went away around 7:30.
(I'm lucky in that when I do get these things - which is seldom - they are gone in a couple hours).
I cast on and got a few rows done on the Sand sweater. I'm really, really hoping that I won't have to dip into the second dye lot for it (I have a total of 28 skeins; 25 are of one dye lot and 3 are of another). Even though the woman on the phone told me she would pick the best match, I can see a very obvious difference. The main dye lot I have is a beautiful blue-green. The secondary one is much, much greyer. More like the color on the published color card.
I still refuse to believe that it will take 1.5 kilos of yarn (that's 3.3 pounds of yarn) for this sweater. I'm hoping to be able to send at least the 3 skeins of the second dye lot back and get a credit with Patternworks for them.
Oh, and I did cast on for the smallest size. I measured and a 50" bust (the next larger size) would just look sloppy on me. It's been a while since I took a small/medium in ANYTHING.
So now I must get back to rewriting journal articles so I can go home this evening and knit on my sweater. Or finish the foot warmer socks (got past the heel turn on the second one this morning before I came in; dang I love bulky yarns)
